Flood insurance

Flood insurance is a policy that covers damage from flooding, which standard homeowner’s insurance usually excludes. In the U.S., much of it is written through the National Flood Insurance Program. Basement coverage is limited and often excludes finished floors and other improvements. Coverage details vary by policy.
