Where we do it

Basement floors that look intentional

A decorative concrete finish turns the slab you already have into the finished floor: stained, polished or coated, then sealed so it’s durable and easy to clean. We do basement floors across Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties.

Why concrete

Finish the slab instead of covering it

Carpet and floating floors trap moisture and are the first thing to go after a water event. A finished concrete floor has nothing to soak up water, cleans with a mop, and can look like anything from warm, mottled leather to clean grey stone.

Here’s the honest list, so you can decide if it’s right for your basement.

It’s a good fit if

  • You’re finishing or refinishing the basement and want a floor that can handle a wet spring.
  • You’re pulling up old carpet or tile after water damage.
  • You want low upkeep: sweep, mop, reseal every [X] years.

The trade-offs

  • It’s hard and cooler underfoot than carpet. Most people add area rugs where they sit.
  • Cracks, patches and old glue lines can show through stains. That’s part of the look.
  • An active moisture problem has to be fixed first. No finish fixes a wet slab.

Your options

Finishes that work in basements

Every finish starts with the same prep. What changes is the look, the feel and how much upkeep you want.

Concrete stains & dyes

Color that soaks into the concrete instead of sitting on top. Warm, mottled and one of a kind.

Stains & dyes

Grind & seal / polish

We grind the surface to expose the stone in your slab, then seal or polish it. Clean, modern and very low upkeep.

Grind & seal / polish

Epoxy / polyaspartic

A tough coating in a solid color or with decorative flake. Hides old stains and patches and wipes clean.

Epoxy & polyaspartic coatings

Metallic coatings

Swirled, pearlescent epoxy that looks like marble or molten metal. The statement floor for a bar or theater room.

FAQ

Basement floor questions

Most basement floors run [$X–$Y per square foot], depending on the finish, the condition of your slab and how much prep it needs. You get a written quote after the free estimate.

Usually, yes. We grind off the glue, paint or old sealer first so the stain can soak in. Some glue shadows may still show, which we’ll point out during the estimate.

Tell us. We test the slab before recommending a finish, because some coatings fail on a damp slab and others handle it better. An active leak has to be fixed first.

Most basements take [X–Y days], plus [X days] of cure time before furniture goes back.

It’s cooler underfoot than carpet. Most homeowners add area rugs where they sit, and the floor itself won’t be harmed if a rug ever gets wet.
